Businessfestival sTARTUp Day brings 4100 visitors to Tartu
29. jaanuar 2020 / On Wednesday, January 29th begins the biggest business festival in the Baltics - sTARTUp Day, ending January 31st.
The festival has already registered 4,100 visitors and this number will continue to grow. The festival takes place in the UT Sports Hall with 4 stages.
There will be 20 side events on the first day of the festival and during the festival over 120 speakers, almost half of whom are foreigners from 13 different countries, will share their knowledge. For example, Andres Schabelman, one of the first 30 Airbnb employees and currently responsible for the global expansion of the world's largest freelance portal Fiverr, speaks on stage. Also, Hermione Way, a former communications manager for Tinder Europe will talk about her 10-year experience of marketing startups.
On Thursday morning will be revealed the information gathered about the Metallica concert, which was held in Tartu last summer. Tartu Smart City gathered information about, for example, mobile positioning, card payments, air quality, and cycling.
Although the name of the festival suggests that it is aimed at startups, the program has been designed to be very diverse. sTARTUp Day has put together a program aimed at executives and there is a special event for investors. The festival program has almost 20 different sub-topics - from space technology to business founder psychology. sTARTUp Day is a place where startups, investors, executives, world-class experts, and the media meet to inspire people and encourage them to pursue their dreams.
sTARTUp Day takes place on 29. – 31. January 2020 in Tartu, Estonia. sTARTUp Day is organized by nine organizations – Tartu city, University of Tartu, Tartu Science Park, Contriber, Tartu Centre of Creative Industries, Tartu Biotechnology Park, Tartu Business Advisory Services, Ole Rohkem, and Swedbank.
