16. juuni / Every Friday at 20.00, from June until August, a 20-minute summer concert will be performed by the Tartu Town Hall carillon.

The 34 bronze bells of the carillon mainly play selections from an internationally known repertoire – classical pieces suitable for the bells, folk music, pop melodies, and some original pieces for the carillon. The joy of recognition continues for listeners with different musical tastes.

The summer concert tradition of the Tartu City Hall carillon or bells began in June 2017. The production and presentation of concert programs with a slightly more demanding sound was made possible due to the large-scale renovation of the carillon in 2016.

The Tartu Town Hall carillon is electronic, with the concert programmes and daily clock melodies being pre-programmed into a computer.

The summer concert programme can be found on the Tartu website: tartu.ee/en/townhall#summer-concerts
