21 December / At the end of this week, Christmas Peace will be declared at Town Hall Square. On Wednesday and Thursday, you can still get into the Christmas spirit and make presents.

Tartu’s Christmas City will once again become a cosy jazz club on 20 December, from 19–20, when the Maria Väli Quartet will be performing. Tomorrow, from 16–19, the Tartu Youth Work Center will be open for everyone to participate in its lip balm and Christmas card workshops.

On Sunday, 24 December, at 12.00, Mayor of Tartu Urmas Klaas, and Bishop Joel Luhamets will jointly proclaim Christmas Peace, a tradition that dates back to the 17th century. Santa Jolle and his wife Asti will also be on hand to help out on the hectic day in Town Hall Square.

Beginners interested in skating are invited to visit the ice rink on Wednesday from 18–19, to practice skating with an instructor. There will also be sleigh rides every day from 15.30–20.00, from 22–26 December. According to the current timetable, ponies will also be giving children rides at Town Hall Square.

The ice rink will be open from 12–18 on 24 December, and from 12–20 on 25 December. From Boxing Day onwards, opening hours will return to their normal rhythm.

The full Christmastime programme is available on the website https://tartukorraldab.ee/
