Each individual has the right to be introduced to records available in the population register regarding themself, their minor children, persons under their guardianship and their deceased spouse. It is not possible to order a population register extract about deceased spouse from the e-population register.
Starting from 1 January 2023, it is possible to view and download your information at the e-population register.
There is no need to submit an extract from the population register to a state agency or local government agency as these institutions have access to the population register.
Information on the population register extract:
- first and surname,
- gender, date of birth, place of birth, personal identification code, personal identification code of a foreign country (if applicable),
- citizenship,
- the existence and validity period of a foreigner’s residence permit or right of residence.
It is possible to add your marital status, former names, place of residence, additional addresses as well as information about spouse, children, parents, guardianship, former places of residence, former spouses, deceased children, and statistical data on the extract.
It is possible to apply for the population register extract:
- In Estonian or English
- as a digital or on paper document.
