New virtual tours will help you discover exciting destinations in Estonia and Russia
3 March / Within the framework of the Via Hanseatica Plus project, which received support from the Estonia-Russia Cross Border Cooperation Programme, six virtual tours of Estonian and Russian destinations and objects have been completed.
Starting with the very first frame, the tours help the visitor feel as if they are actually present at the destination, showing them the opportunities and activities that can be enjoyed there. Interactive multimedia solutions, or virtual tours, are 360-degree photos that can be moved as you wish, and which create the illusion of actually being in a room or location. On the virtual tour, you can enlarge the exhibits and click on the circular-shaped icons, which provide additional information about the places, activities and museum exhibits found there.
In Estonia, you can pay a virtual visit to Rakvere Castle, the Estonian Mining Museum, in Ida-Viru County, and the Estonian Aviation Museum, in Tartu County. Russian virtual tours allow you to explore the historic centre of Pskov, Vyborg Castle and its surroundings, and enjoy a ‘hike’ in the Sestroretsk swamp.
The virtual tours have been adapted for convenient use on computers or smartphones and allow you to read information materials in three languages – Estonian, English and Russian. Tours can be found on the website www.viahanseatica.info/virtual-3d-tours.
Estonia-Russia Cross Border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020 aims to foster cross-border cooperation across the borders between the Republic of Estonia and the Russian Federation to promote socio-economic development in the regions on both sides of the common borders. The Programme web-site is www.estoniarussia.eu.
Numerous Estonian, Russian and Latvian organisations participate in the development of the Via Hanseatica Plus route. The project’s budget for the upcoming two years is 510 068 euros, 10% of which is covered by the partners as their own contribution. Programme co-financing is 459 061.2 euros.
