4 October / From Monday through 7 October, the traditional Entrepreneurship Week will be taking place in Tartu and across Estonia, one of the highlights of which is the free online conference ‘Tandem in Entrepreneurship’ on Tuesday.

This time, the events of Tartu Entrepreneurship Week are aimed at high school students, students and business start-ups. The programme encourages entrepreneurial thinking and provides practical tools to help you move forward with your ideas. By the end of the week, anyone can become an entrepreneur.

‘I am glad that both in Tartu, and in Estonia as a whole, it is possible to count on more than two hands the reasons why it is good to start a business here. We have educated people, supportive e-solutions, and high-level business development and support services, it is easy to start and register a business, with the market here being small enough and flexible enough to test business ideas. Although just as important is the favourable attitude of our fellow citizens and the local government,’ said Kaili Ojamets, Head of the Business Development Department.

According to Jan Lätt, Head of Tartu Business Advisory Services, Entrepreneurship Week gives those interested the opportunity to spend more time outside of their offices and create and visit exciting trainings. For example, on 4 October, the youth conference ‘Student Company – An Opportunity for You’ will be taking place in the Widget Factory, with practical workshops on polishing ideation and elevator speeches. Wednesday’s Start-up Entrepreneur’s Day, taking place on the Alexela Creative Stage and in the SPARK Demo Centre, is aimed at start-up entrepreneurs.
