Tartu to celebrate the Day of Older Persons on 28 September

19 September / On Friday, 28 September, older residents of Tartu are invited to visit the Vanemuise Concert Hall.

The Older Persons Day event is free, and will last from 10.00 to 17.00, with doors opening at 9.00.

Dance and musical collectives from Tartu will be performing on Older Persons Day. Tips and teachings on how to maintain one’s health will be shared by trainer Toomas Õunap. A number of different companies will be introducing their products and services. The day will end with a spirited concert by guest band Soov.

According to Deputy Mayor Mihkel Lees it is very welcome that the celebration of Older Persons Day is becoming a tradition in Tartu. ‘I invite all of the distinguished older residents of Tartu to leave their homes and join us at the Vanemuise Concert Hall, to spend a pleasant and exciting day together’.

In addition to the diverse programme, the Older Persons Day event also offers an excellent opportunity for sociable conversation and making new acquaintances. All of the visitors will also have the opportunity to meet Tartu Mayor Urmas Klaas, Deputy Mayor Mihkel Lees and Merle Liivak, Head of the Department of Social Welfare and Healthcare.
