Voting for the Participatory Budget Begins on October 2rd

/ On Thursday, October 2rd, the voting for the participatory budget in Tartu will start, allowing residents to choose from 24 ideas proposed by their fellow citizens over the course of a week by voting electronically on the Tartu website or at the town hall information center.
The ideas for the participatory budget can be viewed on the Tartu website at www.tartu.ee/en/participativebudgeting, at the exhibition on Kaarsilla, or at the town hall information center.
The public vote will take place from October 2rd to October 8th, where votes can be cast both electronically (www.tartu.ee/en/participativebudgeting) and in person at the town hall information center. Voting will close on October 8th at 6 PM, with the results announced immediately.
Voters must be at least 14 years old and registered as residents of Tartu in the Estonian population registry, as well as youth aged 14-26 who are studying in general education schools, vocational schools, applied colleges, or universities in Tartu. Each voter can cast their vote for up to three ideas. The two ideas with the most votes will be implemented next year.
This year, 75 ideas were submitted for Tartu's participatory budget, of which 24 ideas reached the public vote.
Tartu started the participatory budget initiative in 2013 and is now organizing it for the thirteenth time. To date, 22 ideas have been implemented or are in the process of being implemented with the support of the participatory budget.
