Tartu Old Town lighting fittings to be updated with a modern interior
Tartu City Government Press Release
/ City continues the process of fixing up lighting fittings in the City Centre. Energy efficient LED lamps will be installed in Old Town type lighting.
The plan is to update 109 lighting fittings at Town Hall Square, and along Küüni, Magistri, Magasini, Gildi and Munga streets. This year’s works are a continuation of what was begun last year, when nearly 200 Old Town type lighting fittings were fixed up.
Old sodium devices in lantern-shaped lighting fittings will be replaced with more reliable and efficient LED lamps, and bright glass will be replaced with matte, vandal-proof, glass. The wiring in the lighting fittings will also be fixed up and cast iron lighting columns will be painted.
The lighting fittings will be fixed up by the end of September.
