/ Bewegen Technologies, Inc. has ended its provision of the Tartu Smart Bike Share management system service. This has led to such widespread disruptions in Tartu’s Smart Bike Share service that the City of Tartu has been forced to temporarily suspend the service.

The City of Tartu closed the Smart Bike Share service to all users at 17.00 on 24 May. Bikes could no longer be rented after that time, although it was possible to return rented bikes to the docks in the evening.

The City of Tartu, after learning of Bewegen’s financial difficulties, has been actively engaged in finding a new management solution to ensure the operation of the Smart Bike Share service. A suitable solution has now been found and, according to initial estimates, it will allow the service to reopen on 7 June.

The City of Tartu apologises for any difficulties caused and will shortly propose solutions to compensate for the inconvenience resulting from the disruption of service. We would like to thank all active users of the Smart Bike Share service and hope for your understanding.
