3 October / Voting on Tartu’s participative budget will take place from 6–12 October, when the people of Tartu will be able to choose between 23 proposals submitted by their fellow city residents. The two winning ideas will be implemented next year.

The voting will be taking place both electronically (www.tartu.ee/en/participativebudgeting) and in the Town Hall Information Centre. The Information Centre will be open on all voting days from 10.00 to 18.00, with electronic voting taking place around the clock. Voting ends both electronically and at the Information Centre at 18.00 on 12 October, with the results to be announced immediately.
Registered residents of the City of Tartu from the age of 14 and all young people aged 14–26, who are studying at a general education school, vocational educational institution, institution of professional higher education or university in the City of Tartu, can vote.

Electronic voting requires an ID-Card, Mobile-ID or Smart-ID. To vote in the information centre, an identity document must be presented.

Each voter can vote for up to three ideas. There are a total of 23 ideas submitted by fellow city residents. The two ideas receiving the most votes will be implemented next year. The cost of both ideas is up to EUR 100,000.

Participative budget ideas are available for viewing on Tartu’s website www.tartu.ee/en/participativebudgeting, at an exhibition set up on Kaarsild Bridge, or at the Town Hall Information Centre.
Tartu has been organizing a participative budget since 2013. So far, fourteen ideas have been implemented with the support of the participative budget, and two more are being developed.
