There is plenty to do in Tartu’s Village of Light

19 December / There is plenty to do during the period before Christmas in Tartu's Village of Light at Town Hall Square.

Disc jockeys from Elmar will be bringing their studio to the Village of Light on 21 and 22 December. They will be broadcasting a special live radio programme from Tartu on Saturday and Sunday.
 
The Tartu Ambulance Foundation wants to share Christmas cheer with the residents of the city, and on Friday, 20 December, will be presenting their new ambulances. The vehicles will be on display at Town Hall Square from 16.00 – 17:30. Helping to set the Christmas mood will be the Tartu Ambulance Foundation’s Mixed Choir Sirens and the female dance group Emergency.

At 17.00 on 20 December, and at 14.00 on 21 December, literary enthusiasts will be able to take a Christmas walk using the literary app TartuFic. In this way, the Tartu City Library is offering the opportunity to discover Tartu through the written texts and old photographs of well-known writers.

At 17.00 on Sunday, 22 December, the fourth Advent Candle will be lit at Town Hall Square.
 
At 12.00 on 24 December, Mayor of Tartu Urmas Klaas and Joel Luhamets, Bishop of the Southern Region, will declare Christmas Peace in Tartu. As is customary, Maitseelamuste Koda will also be offering a tasty Christmas soup that day.
